SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE DECEMBER 2020: THE MIRACLE OF OUR MIND

Hello lovely ones and happy almost Sagittarius New Moon Solar Eclipse, which takes place at 8.16am PT on Monday December 14 2020. This is the final New Moon of 2020 and fittingly is a total solar eclipse in Sagittarius that wraps up the last lunation of this intense year.

Solar Eclipses are powerful New Moons that really assist us in drawing a clean, blank slate and starting afresh. This energy is amplified when we experience a total solar eclipse such as this Sagittarius one. It is as though the cosmos presses a reset button so we can start anew.

Falling at 23 degrees of Sagittarius the Sabian Symbol (as channeled by the medium who created an image for each degree of the zodiac) is: A Group of Immigrants Fulfilling the Requirements For Entering a New Country.

This symbol is oh so very Sagittarius as the sign that rules foreign places and people, international travel, legal matters and justice. Mercury – the ruler of travel, communication and contracts – sits alongside this Solar Eclipse New Moon at 20 degrees of Sagittarius. The Sabian Symbol for 20 degrees of Sagittarius is: Men Cutting Through Ice.

Mercury’s energies at this degree of Sagittarius energizes the resetting nature of this Sagittarius Solar Eclipse and provides the Soulstrology theme of the Miracle of our Mind.

Let us turn first to the Sabian Symbol of 23 degrees Sagittarius: A Group of Immigrants Fulfilling the Requirements For Entering a New Country.

As you know by now, Soulstrology tells us we are birthing an entirely new world, from the ashes of destruction of this year. And the Sagittarius Solar Eclipse tells us that at this time, we are all ‘immigrants’ who need to fulfill the necessary requirements to enter this new world.

What are these requirements then, you may ask? Well, (as always) Soulstrology tells us that this is about the evolution of our soul. The requirements for us to enter this new paradigm are that we are living in alignment with our true purpose and highest self, have transformed egoic shadows into light and strength, allowing us to experience miracles in our own lives (Sagittarius is all about miracles) and also serve as a channel for miracles for others.

This year has pushed us to our limits, both individually and collectively. It has tested and strained every facet of our existence. It has brought up every bit of darkness, inequality and injustice that poisons humanity and our earth plane. It has excavated our own darkness too, shining a bright light on where we fall short of being our best selves and in turn showing us how in our own way, even unwittingly, and even with the best intentions we contribute to the darkness of the world. None of us (I hope, ha!) are crooks or murderers. But we all have shadow. Our anger, resentment, jealousy, blame, insecurity, guilt, smallness etc all feed the darkness of our world.

I know I have seen my ‘stuff’ in ways that have brought me to my knees and to tears this year. As a seemingly evolved person who has the privilege of guiding others, I have seen very clearly, that I too still have my ‘stuff’ and been reminded that this healing and transformative journey is endless. It has been humbling and hugely expansive. As I used to always say, and as I had on my Twitter bio (years ago when I ‘did’ Twitter): I am a work in progress. We all are. It is an understatement to say that this year has been dark and has pushed our faith to its limits. Even for me, a Sagittarius Sun with a Sagittarius stellium (collection of planets in Sagittarius), including Mercury, I have found my glass half full optimistic nature difficult to sustain.

But just in time with the last lunation of this year, the Sagittarius Solar Eclipse comes at the exact perfect degree (gosh I do love how the cosmos works!) to give us hope and faith while reminding us that we need to have our ‘stuff’ sorted in order to fulfill the necessary soul requirements for us to physically enter into this new chapter.

Mercury represents the power of our minds. I remember a mentor of mine once telling me that our minds were either our best allies or our greatest foes. In Sagittarius Mercury helps our minds be our best allies. It brings back our optimism and faith. Helps us to see the bigger picture. Encourages us to have benevolence for both ourselves and others. Pushes us to seek justice for all and to know that justice means true equality. Mercury assists us to conceive miracles in our minds first and foremost before we manifest them on the earth plane. The Sabian Symbol for Mercury at this Solar Eclipse tells us that the impossible is possible. Just allow yourself to conjure up the image of the Sabian Symbol: Men cutting through Ice.

We can cut through what we perceive to be a cold, hard obstacle, whether that is one we are experiencing in our lives, or the challenges the world at large faces.

When we shift our consciousness, we can create the most magical, swift energetic shifts in our lives and in the world. It reminds me of the miracle of Chanukah which falls at the time of this Solar Eclipse. The tiny amount of oil which was able to miraculously light the menorah in the temple for eight days.

At this time if we can find that same teeny oil (light) in our consciousness - that spark of optimism and faith, that flickering ember emboldening us to seek justice, that wants miracles not just for ourselves and our loved ones, but for all beings – if we can find that light and harness it to transform our shadows then the impossible will become possible and we will be able to fulfill the requirements needed for all of us cosmic immigrants, taking us from one foot in this old world to two feet firmly planted in the new world.

I have always considered myself an immigrant. I was the first generation born in the UK to parents who left Sri Lanka seeking more opportunities. I am proud to be British, but I have always had to navigate the often complex dualism of my Sri Lankan heritage and my British upbringing. I am also an immigrant here in the USA. A country who welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to reinvent myself and my life in my mid-thirties. America has truly allowed me to start anew - to find my soulmate and have the family I have always desired. My gratitude is boundless and my desire to have a positive impact on this country that has gifted me all these opportunities and blessings expands with every breath I take.

As an immigrant I want to share that I (and my family) were fueled by these feelings of hope, excitement of the opportunities, a desire and belief in a better way of life. It was the promise of potential, the excitement of a new adventure and the belief that better exists that fueled my parents, and indeed fueled me when I moved here. It is the gratitude that we have for the grace of these foreign lands that serves as the grit through the harder times.

And in my humble opinion it is this which is required of all of us. We need to be excited once again. We need to have faith once again. We need to believe in a better world and better way of existing for all beings. Yes, this year has been very challenging, but hope and blessings are on the horizon. But we need to shift our consciousness, and create those miracles in our minds first and foremost.

What we do right now matters. What we say matters. What we think matters. Do not underestimate the extremely potent energy that is at play right now. You may not see an overnight miracle (but don’t be surprised in some cases if you do) as this eclipse brings a month-long lunation and a six-month cycle which will see us into the first set of the 2021 eclipses. Some miracles and shifts will take a little longer to appear on the physical realm. But we can all start where we are right now by tapping into our minds, the source of all creation and connection. A word of warning that Mercury does make a square aspect to Neptune at this time which can cause some confusion by distorting our thinking and even our communications. Be mindful of what information you are taking in and how it is impacting you. Remember that what we consume is not limited to what we eat or drink. It is what we read, the conversations we have, the energies that we expose ourselves to. At a time when we need to get our papers (our shadow) in order and be the immigrant with faith, hope and determination, I urge you to only consume what feeds this.
